Foster + Partners honoured at Condé Nast Traveller Innovation & Design Awards
Foster + Partners’ masterplan for Masdar City, Abu Dhabi was awarded the Sustainability prize at Condé Nast Traveller magazine’s Design & Innovation Awards in London last night. The ‘New Bus for London’ initiative, in which Foster + Partners’ and Aston Martin’s design won first prize for its redesign of the Routemaster, was also recognised with an award.
Lord Foster, who collected the awards, said:
“This is an excellent result and I am delighted that Masdar City has been recognised for its innovation in the field of sustainability. It is a real privilege to be working on such a remarkable project. Its aim – to create a carbon neutral, zero-waste desert community – is a world first.”
